what type are those little monitors on top your Mackies?
interesting.

looks like some 703's on the wall too...alright.DIY.

Those are Klipshes. Great for checking the translation of my mixes. They're 5.1

I made the panels from 703 rigid fibreglass.

Panels are looking good!

Is the ribbin mic your weapon of choice for trumpets? Have you also recorded tenor sax with it? (I'm a tenor sax player and are aalways looking for good mics)

Thanks! I made 16 of them :) Took about a week......

Yes, it is. It's an AEA R84. I have recorded a tenor once with it, and he loved the sound. I don't know that it would always be the first choice, though.....

IIRC, it worked out to about $10 a sheet of 2 by 4, 2".

It really does wonders

A's Basement Bedroom

 well, after looking at these 27 pages, i realise that people have such different tastes, needs, possibilities, pockets, equipment, space, etc... here's my spot, very humble, just waiting to be able to move to a spacier place, rather than my bedroom... girls dont like so many wires.... its a fact...

so this is pictures of the whole setup (without the left side cut out in the picture), the mics i own (so far) and the lone rack and rack gear i deal with for now...

of course, i already know where im going with all of this, and all i can say, its that its too bad i didnt start with all this back when i was 16, like this kid up there, because God only knows that i wouldnt be sitting in a bedroom trying to cut records... but i am.

oh well, here i am, and watch me go...

peace

Are those superluxs in the case?

OK, here's mine....

We've spent the last year and a half building our studio "The Generator". We have been open for the last 8 months. We purchased a cool old house in a downtown area and gutted it. We turned the upstairs into an apartment and the down stairs into the studio. Basically we have a control room, 2 iso booths, 1 live room, lounge and bathroom. Both the apartment and the studio have separate entrances. It was a ton of freakin' work, but so far so good!

well, these ones i have i bought on ebay, and they were sold with both blown tweeters and a blown woofer, so they're out of use, i just put'em in the picture for show. i dont plan on using them at my current location anyhow, i'm waiting until i move out to a better place, where i can get full soundproof treatment...

always for show lol ;)

i know, right...

but i just cant wait to have them as actual WORKING monitors, since this is the purpose for which i bought them, just that at 150$ a piece for every speaker, i'll be waiting a while before i could even hear them.

and at least, i'll be able to hear what every engineer in becoming wants to hear at least once in his lifetime
