Some Pics of partially setup studio

I ran out of time to complete the studio build out. I have about 30 housewives that want to make Christmas CDs so I had to setup and start tracking. But here are some pics of the the place.

The desk is one I built last month based around pk1's desk pics.

Floor plan - hopefully finished by December

Late 60's, early 70s era Hammond. I might strip it down and use the amp for a bass cab I have somewhere.

3rdly that mic stand holds my LDC just fine. (MXL 2001)
QUOTE]

i have a Shure SM7...it does tip over my boom, for real.
DIY time, just thought I'd cheat and you could give me an DIY answer for a weight/balance on the stand. :o

HAHAHA, If I come across the need to DIY weight my stand, I'll let you know. :)

[EDIT] I suppose you could add a section of small diameter lead pipe to the end of the boom to counter-balance your mic.

I am moving my studio back to my house. It is presently at a building in the city. Studio biz is just not what it used to be. Rent and all expenses are going up. People seem less and less willing to pay even my paltry rate of $28.00 per hour. Hell, if The Hit Factory went out os business what chance do the rest of us have? ProTools was a great invention but I think in the end it killed a lot of studios.

My Happy Little Zone!

Hey guys your studios look nice!

Heres mine less a few new gear add ons..
The best part of the room is when your walking In I have a poster of the hot Miss Gwen Stefani"........ ;)

It's been a Long Time coming and I am still working on it. Mostly cosmetics, sound treatments and cabling the additional rooms. This place looked like crap when I first got in it.

Here are three rooms
I will post the others later

Additional rooms.

Still working on it all though.

The parallel walls are killing me in certain situations.

your icon reminds me of someone eles's around here..... hmmmmmm

OH! But you only have a blue lava lamp............ In order to aceive true balance in your studio(grasshopper) you must have a Green lava lamp as I do.
You must be one with the Lava Lamp........

Errr, maybe you just like blue and not green. Ah, Screw True balance! Lava lamps are great for throwing at your drummers head when he starts to play the wrong song again!

Hot oil and parifin are awesome when they explode on the drummer. One thing for sure it makes em pay attention next time!

Thats not a home studio. Thats got tons of rooms, and it's got tons of gear, and it's acoustically treated properlly, and it doesnt look like a shit hole.

DAMN YOU!

OK, I've finally pretty much completed phase 1 of my studio.

Let me know what you guys think. A buddy of mine and I built this room in my garage.
