You can currently get the i88x from the U.S. for $399 new. Then just buy the UK adaptor from Yamaha Kemble for about £24 in delivery... that's what I did when I bought my i88x s/h from the U.S.

And that gives me another 8 inputs? so 16 tracks of simultanious recording?

That makes it much much better value. I'll have to look into this...

Also are you connecting the i88x to the 01x by mLan?

That's me relaxing in my new studio!

That's sick!! I might not have the same console as you, but I have the same red jacket :D

Oh yes, it is real. :p And even better, that's just my hobby room. Every penny earned in there stays in there. For a living i'm a lucky dude who can work with Neve console.

Yes yes, as long as there is a strong will there allways is a way.

Well, its about time I update y'all on the *new* setup. I've moved and added a few new items so here it is.

.................and to further trivialize the aquisition of gear:

I just got my first microphone stand today!

I'm confused, if you have the bad ass PC setup with monitor/amp+ mixer...why do you have the Reel/Reel and the 4track?
I'd be hawking them for some other gear...
I never have equipment laying around unused.

Maybe some more mic stands? small set of monitors, mics...acoustic pads...

congrats..... #1st stand.................... daang i'm old?whooa.

so how you gonna DIY the weight so it can hold a LDC without tipping over?

First off, in the "free adds" section you'll find my 4-track for sale. The reel-to-reel is just too cool to get rid of; and further more how many young kids have one?
2nd I mainly produce electronic music, so I've never really needed mics/mic stand. I've been DJ'n for over 7 years.
3rdly that mic stand hold my LDC just fine. (MXL 2001)

Thanks for your interest.

Hey Thane -- ever bounced your traxx from your DAW onto reel and then back into your DAW? I'm sure that would add a nice & subtle "analogue tape distortion" to your electronica songs.

Giganova....You got any new gear?

Not sure when I posted the last time. Got a Future Revolution Retro, an Allen & Heath Mixwizard, an RME lightpipe card, ADAT interface, a MOOG Rogue, a $3k notebook, etc. this year .... enough to play around for a while until the gear lust hits me :D I'm gonna upgrade my mics and pres soon.

I'm def. planning on trying that....but I need new tape, and 1 new reel first.

Let me know how it worked out, ok? If your reel-to-reel recorder allows to bounce "on the fly" it would be very easy [no need to rewind tape and record back into DAW].
