lcd screen faulty wavestation

The lcd screen on my wavestation has gone black in the top half. has anybody had this experience or know what to do?

I'd have to say it doesn't appear to be the backlighting, the top half of the lcd is black withouth lettering and the bottom half is normal, very strange.

You might try doing a reset of the Wavestation. Save your patches first! I'm not too hopeful a reset would work though, as it sounds like you have a hardware problem. You'll probably need to take it into a service center.

I live in new zealand and there is no service center for at least 500 miles!
i replaced the battery recently and it was working fine for awhile.but suddenly the top half is all blacked in pixels, but the bottom half is fineand the backlight is working.
maybe will try to do a reset, no patches etc to lose since the battery replacement anyway; hope the instructions are in the manual somewhere.
if not where might i find instructions to do that?
