I have just started to get into recording in my home. I have a buddy who happens to be a audio salesman and has offered to sell me a pair of Yamaha NS10's. He says they are in exellent shape( I have no reason not to believe him). He says he wants 650.00 Canadian, which works out to approx 440.00 American. I wasn't really looking for such a purchase right now( just spent a grand on mixing board and effects unit) but I don't want to kick myself later for not grabbing them up.

Is that a good price? Right now, I don't know my arse from my elbow in the recoding department , so I'm looking to sponge some info and savvy.

Anybody?

Considering they cost less than $400 US new it doesn't sound like a great deal. Check on Ebay and see what they are going for. Maybe they have gone up in value since they were discontinued.

Next time you see them for $110 USD, let me now! I'll be all over them without a blink!

Since they were discontinued, I've seen go for anywhere from $400-$600!

I got mine for $200. If you look around you can get a much better deal.

Well hell then... Next time anyone sees them at those prices, seriously let me know!

Yah...me too...

looks like $450 or so on ebay.

I didn't know they were going for that much now. It makes me feel better about spending $140 on new tweeters. There's a pair at a store here locally. I'll have to see what they are going for.

When I was out shopping for monitors a few years ago NS10's were $550 new, Canadian $. $650 is bit steap, $400 would be reasonable. That is what I sold mine for and they were in immaculate condition.

Goes to show. You can never trust a salesman!

Thanks for the replies.
