As one of the two first responders and as a Virginian, hopefully I still have some cred.
Regarding your future career, I don't know anything about Full Sail so I can't advise you one way or the other. However, you are capable of deciding for yourself.
In doing so, please consider not only pro and con advise on Full Sail, but also other alternatives. For example, I graduated from JMU (it was a LOT easier to get in back then) with a degree in business. I wouldn't suggest that for you; actually I wish I had majored in music education. However I do happen to know JMU has a really good music program with a concentration in music industry, as do several other VA state universities. There are advantages of a traditional university, like flexibililty in program of study, and credibility of a bachelor's degree.
Absolutely nothing wrong with a technical school, but if you can swing it at all I'd go for a semester of university to see if that's for you first. Seems like from the Full Sail website they take you whenever, so it can't hurt.
PS Oh and I'm the loser who has a desk job that he doesn't really want to do. BlueBear runs a commercial studio.
