Jeptha - thanks a lot for those comments...it isn't a band unfortunately it's just me. The drums were an electric kit that I recorded as stereo audio. I would probably have to redo the whole song unless I can find a way to fix it by e.q.ing or something... It's funny you should say I need more vocal effects, I normally get accused of saturation because I'm unsure of my vocal ability. I do appreciate your thoughtful detailed comments and I will consider your advice.
muzeman - thanks for giving it to me 'cold', that's why I put it up here. It's strange because some people like when I 'yell' more, as opposed to the 'mellower' voice....I am very unsure of my voice but for some reason I just keep trying to sing....I Do take your advice as help....thank you..... And I'll surely bring back the 'EBow" for the next one.
Emeric ----"start by getting the drums better balanced, pan the overheads more, L/R get the kick up a bit, touch more brightness to the snare"
Great advice! Thanks for describing that in simple terms. The only thing is, I played the drums on an electric kit and recorded it as audio...I don't use midi (I'm a bit slow) so I can't seperate the bass drum, snare, etc. I have it as a 2 track stereo mix. I hope I can achieve better results by working with that...........thanks a lot for your thoughts and time...
theron - thanks a lot man...I must say I was suprised at how short your response was...normally you add more constructive criticism...I'm really glad to hear that you think the vocals are O.K....I know you would tell me if you didn't....thanks again
Sonic Misfit - thanks dude...I won't try to blame the mp3 for my sorry mixing skills..I do hear what your saying......thanks for the comments.
rbw87 - thank you for the encouraging words....You are right about the vocals..I tried out a new vocal processor and before I even knew how to use it, I started recording. I also sent the vocals through a BBE Sonic Maximizer and I'm not sure if that was the best idea.....I'd like to hear your tunes...thank you again for your feedback. It is appreciated much.
