Big deal. Do you actually know of any audio apps that could take advantage of that? Might as well be running Linux for all the good it's gonna do you.

What homereccers (and pro-reccers as well) need are rock-solid drivers for the hardware that actually exists and software that will run flawlessly utilizing them.

Along the lines of an invention of a friend of mine.

He calls it the Insanicycle.

A Gas Powered Unicycle.

The doc is correct.

Okay, I'm not gonna disagree with what he's saying, but man, wouldn't it be fun to ride that gas powered unicycle??!!:D

Hell, just leave it powered up and you wouldn't need a hard drive!:D :D :D

Probably should be called "the suicycle."

>wouldn't it be fun to ride that gas powered unicycle??!!

I think it's for sale. Are you game?

No, but think of the joy of being able to do audio work, render video, and burn CDs all at the same time.

That's what I'm talkin' aboot...!! :p

Multitasking is where it's at. I hate havin' to sit there and wait for my tracks to mixdown before I can do anything else... I wanna be able to surf eBay, listen to music, and maybe play a little Unreal while my wav file is being compiled...

Again- this is not an issue of processing power.

MSM can't even coexist with burning SW and neither uses enough processing power on a modest P4 system to matter.

Until a true configurable Multitasking Operating System exists that gives the USER real administrative control over what processes get priority all that CPU/RAM/HD muscle is moot.

You mean like how in Win2k you can assign priority to any process and assign that process to any CPU?

Yup. You did say you want to surf while you do all that other stuff, including burning CDRs (perhaps even recordable DVDs). Does this work with MS's overbearing browser/e-mail clients though? If it did I don't think you would even be considering upgrading a dual CPU config to 4 CPUs. :)

lol.. dude... lighten up man.. it's just a goof... :p

I already surf eBay and listen to music (etc.) while my WAVs compile.. :D I can't help it.. I'm too impatient to just sit there and wait... :p

Once again, Linux, just so damn cool, but no one in the audio world wants to agree other than Midiman. Stupid MOTU.

The folks who code the first serious multitracker & effects algorythms are going to be serious heroes.

Damn right. I believe that many people on this board are pissed off enough at MS that any other option that works as good would be preferable.

It also had brain raiser slot, replacing human brain... It works without brainware... making music...

AAAUUUUUWWWW.....
