I figured this forum was the best place to post this rather than the mp3 one...

Anyway, The following link is to the first song Ive made.

Before you listen to it keep this in mind:

It was made with Cool Edit 2000, not pro. I had only 1 track.

The mic I had cost about 5 and was the mini kind that came attached to some cheap plastic headphones.

Its my first song ever written recorded or edited.

But aside from that I need some help.
The guitars sound really really abrasive. How can I mellow it out and make it sound more "fuzzy" than abrasive. I had my amp settings fine, but I think it is a micing problem or somthing else. I dont know. Or maybe theres a reverb or double tracking thing I dont know about.

Also, what are your thoughts on the solo. The song itself is a little weak, although for the 1st time its not bad. But I do like the solo.

note: The name of the song isnt "heavy". It kind of is a "heavy song", so...

This is the Recording Techniques forum? Im not looking for a critique of my talent, just recording help if possible.

The MP3 forum is for listening to, analyzing, crtitquing, and asking tech questions using clips........

Recording Techniques is for discussion on recording techniques, not clips.....
