Heavy bass drum...

I just posted, but I have another question... which is not exactly on the same topic.

Anyway, say we found a nice bass drum sample, and we want it to sound really heavy (eg. Lie to Me by Daniel Powter). Just simply raising the LOW on the EQ values causes horrible distortion, and adjusting all the values independently doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions? :p
 
Find a different bass drum sample that suits your needs better than the one you already have.
 
Yeah, it's mostly going to be the sample. Find one that sounds like what you want.

You can also try compression, bass x-pander plugins, or sub-bass generators (for a more techno sound).
