EMG - HZ Pickups

ive got a jackson DKMG with two emg - hz pick ups.

someone told me they run on batterys, is this true and how would i change them?

another thing is this, on the floyd rose the micro tuning screws have little flat pathches in the thred, some on told me this happends if you take all the strings off at once but i have never done that?????

It's my understanding that EMG-HZ's are passive, not active, meaning they DON'T need batteries. If they were active, there would be a little rectangular piece on the back of the guitar where you would put a 9V in.

As for the micro-tuners, I've never really had that problem, so I'm not too sure. Sorry.
