Yes, it does sound much better. On the first version, I stepped on the wrong preset button on my pedal which gave it to much distortion. This latest one, I just left it on the "lighter" setting.. That is the main difference, though I do think the new Fender had something to do with it. The distortion on the first version, I feel, covered up the tube sound that you can hear better on the new one. I really like the "AcousticVerb", its a program that I downloaded from DSP-FX. It wasnt cheep (damn thing cost $140) but it fixed my problem and I use it on everything now. About the bass, some people say its to "boomy" others say they cant even hear it. I think I should change the acousticverb on it, I've noticed its boomyness as well. A bass in a big reflective room just doesnt do it, I think i'll try a smaller room or something to tighten it up a bit. Anyway, thanks for ya'lls input!

Hey,

When the bass is too boomie It's more undefined and therefore harder to hear. Another way of putting it is that it doesn't have the "punch". Could be the room but I always record my "active" bass direct into my board with everything set flat on my guitar. All the color I may need can be added in the final mix. If you are recording a live room mix then I'd get the bass player to roll off some bass from his guitar or amp. It may not sound as good to him but it will record better and again bass can be put back on later.
