Hey awesome people! I've visited the forum a few times in the past but this is my first post.

I've been recording my demos for over 10 years now and I've always had an interest in audio engineering so I've learned a couple of things along the way, but a few months ago I decided I wanted to start taking mixing and recording more seriously and I soon realized that having a treated room and a decent monitor system had to be my first priority.
I just got my first decent pair of studio monitors (Adam Audio T7V) and now I want to treat my room properly, that's where I need some advice.

The dimensions of the room where my small studio is set up are 9' x 11' with a doorless 9' x 2' closet so the room ends up being more like 11' x 11' (see attached diagram and photos).
I know square rooms suck (not the 80s song, that one's great) but this is what I'll have to work with for the next 2-3 years, so I wanted to ask for your help to make the best out of my situation. Basically, I have 3 questions:

1. Where would be the best spot to place my desk/monitors?
At the moment I'm facing towards the closet so the monitors are facing the window. What worries me here is that I don't know if the closet space will act as sort of a small cave and amplify the bass coming from the back of my monitors, maybe I would be better off turning my setup 180° so I'm closer to the window with the monitors facing the open closet?

2. I know I'll have to build and hang a bunch of broadband acoustic panels (and get rid of the acoustic foam I was scammed into buying), but will I need to take my guitars and shelves off the walls? Or will that not make a difference?

3. Looking at my situation (and pictures), is there anything else I should do to make this room a decent place for recording and mixing?

I truly appreciate any help I can get, so thanks in advance! And if you need any other info from me I'll be happy to share it.
