Hello:

I just got a Tascam 38, (8 tracks) with 4 dbx 150x Tipe 1 Noise Reduction. No manuals. How do I connect them? please help!! I am digital trying to get a warmer sound with analog.

Q. It is true that I have to record with the DBX and then play back the tape with the DBX too???

(Se habla español!! ESL)

Thanks!!

The dbx150x noise reduction units were not the original noise reduction units for your TASCAM 38 reel to reel. They were an OEM, (Original Equipment Manufacturer) who made stand alone noise reduction units for use with any tape recorder that runs at 15 ips tape speeds.

Rather then try to describe this complex connection, I will search for a diagram of the hook up and try to post it here in this thread to guide you. Please be patient!:)

The dbx must be used while recording and playing back the tape.

Cheers! :)

I have found a diagram that explains the hook up in picture and text but the resolution of the picture is not fantastic.

Try to view this picture in a 600x800 screen resolution to make it appear readable.

I hope this helps you a little.

Cheers! :)

It works! Thanks!

Thanks for your help! It works!

By the way, do you know where can I find an Op Manual for the Tascam 38? I had been looking in the net with out success... not even in tascam web page...any idea?

Thanks again!

Tascam Parts Department will sell you a manual even though they don't list it on their site. Call them.
