Nature of Force
Hey

So, I was sitting on my couch playing some songs on my guitar. I was looking at the volume knobs, the tone knob, and the 3 way selector switch. Then, an idea popped into my head. Wouldn't it be cool to have master volume knob, for both pickups. Then instead of a switch, have a slider to represent how much output the pickups are giving.

Sorry for the poor representation...

I think it would be neat. Kind of pointless, but a fun project/concept. Tell me what you think!

This isn't "that" crazy of an idea. It's very similar to the jazz bass setup with two volume knobs, one for each pickup. You just turn the volume up for each pickup as you see fit. This would yield the same result using a sliding "fader" It could be cool though.

I believe a lot of guitars a;;ready do this ... My New ESP has a seperate Volume knob for each Pickup and a selector switch to switch between pickups or to have both pickups on at once and I believe the tone knob is at the end of the chain before the output jack ......

On another side note , I recently saw for sale on a local web site a Epi Les Paul that someone had integrated a Korg Digital effects processor into , it also had a touch screen to change and program the effects with and it had one of those Sustainer thingy"s installed on one pickup ... Pretty neat looking contraption (it also had like 12 knobs on it ) ......

Cheers

Yeah, I have the same setup. Two Volumes for each pickup, and the 3 way selector.

Lots of basses do this exact thing only with a rotary knob rather than a slider so I'm sure there must be some gits that have it also.
My Schecter bass doesn't have a p'up selector switch at all ...... just a knob with a center detent. In the center you get both p'ups and you can turn it either way to get any amount of either p'up you want.

It sounds like a good idea, bot do you have anough space on the electornics cavity to fit the slider?
