No - it doesn't work like that. They're just a signal strength meter that is wide band - so they give you a reading that something is there, but other interference sources won't be detected. I have a BT router here for my internet. It kicks out so much noise between 21 and 29MHz using a radio here on those frequencies is impossible. The meter I have gives me a reading from my TV, that doesn't cause interference, but nothing from the router. That's the snag. The pickups are the most sensitive tool he has - so moving the pickup off the guitar on a long cable would find what is causing his problem.
