Could This Be A "Can't Miss At This Price" Bass?

There's a Starfire brand 6-string fretless bass on ebay for $95, including shipping. Lefty, too. I've been jonesin' for a fretless bass, thinking of converting one of mine, but that could be a lot of work. I know that one will probably need some work after I get it, just don't know how much. I'm thinking...

I could sell one of my basses, unmolested, and recoup most of what this one would cost. Actually, could recoup all of it, maybe- one bass is a Pevey Millenium BPX, the other a MIM Fender jazz.

I know it's a made in China bass, and that give me pause.

Actually, I have almost talked myself out of it... but what say you?

I saw one listed for $395, not $95. I've been watching a lot of cheap guitars on Ebay - the sellers (same ones) bid up so that they don't lose money on the sales. As 'stores' they don't have to pay as much %% on each sale, so can afford to keep reposting until they sell at a price they like. Just look in the bid history while the item is still for sale - if you see bidders with hundreds (or thousands) of positive comments, you know they are doing this.
