Chord progressions..wav's..MIDI..Cubase 7

Try this again. I would like to use midi and wav file
loops to make/follow chord progressions.

For example, I have a guitar strum loop wave file. It is in the key of G.
Four strums in the key of G. I like the strum pattern and
would like to use it for an entire song, but need it to change
chords at the appropriate time in the in song to other chords.
Any ideas on best way to do this using
the same strum pattern to get smooth changes thru the song?

Easy to do with chord track and instruments in Cubase.
How do you do it with a wave guitar strum file you found
outside of Cubase?

Why try this again? I replied to your other topic:

The chord track does not process audio files, it is strictly for MIDI. You have to play the chords yourself.

You are misunderstanding the nature of wave file audio. The captured recording is set. There is no way to manipulate a pre-recorded chord unless you pitch shift the entire event to the desired key. In other words, if you want to change a G major chord to a G minor chord, this is impossible.

However.

If I have, for instance, a wave file event playing a C major and desire it to be an F major, I would need to pitch shift it up five semi-tones either by offline processing it or by using the transpose function in the info line.

There was software like Celemony DNA (direct note access) that claimed to do this but I don't think it ever caught on for widespread use.

Pitch shifting software is intended for very minute corrections. I'm sure neither myself nor Mo Facta would recommend you use a program like melodyne to transpose all your G chords to the desired chord. Just because this option is there doesn't mean you need to take it. You'll need to learn how to play these chords.

For most songs, if you learn the 5 common chords in the key of G you'll be good to play most any song using a capo.
