Ford Van said:I also find the arguements about "Well, if I was recording it, there wouldn't be this problem". I know a LOT of engineers who work professionally, and we discuss stuff in depth. I have never met a professional who would make a statement like that. Everybody makes tracking mistakes, and misses stuff. That is the way of things! The skill of engineering is being able to fix stuff in a timely fashion! While I have heard some decent work from some of the people here, sometimes the comments these same people make remind me of just how inexperienced they really are, and how they wouldn't last long trying to do this for a living.

Well, the way you act sometimes makes me wonder how you keep any clients.
I say that I'll usually catch any noises when tracking since it is my job to commit the best sound possible to tape. I'd much rather figure out the source of that noise from the second I hear it over throwing up a plugin right away.
That being said, I've never really ran into a situation before that I had to deal with audio with massive amounts of noise on it. If that time comes, I'm sure I'll give a plugin a shot. However, if there is a few pops that will take me all of a minute to fix by hand, I'll do it by hand.
