Looks very nice Daniel.
Your parts are packed and ready, will send it Monday.
Got behind here with packing 3 decks last week. :o

Holy Smoke, I missed all the pictures before posting.
WOW, how many hours (days) did you spend Daniel ? :D

Let me guess..... 3-4 days..

Very nice !!!
Looking at those 2 heads, the erase-head and playback have seperated inside.. :( When that brown-yellow goo comes further down you need to replace it Daniel..

Got your email, Thanks :)
Parts on the way.

Enjoy

Hi again Rolf,

Would you by any chance know where I could get replacement heads for the GX-270D ? You gave me the part number of these but I had no luck finding anything on the web, supplier, price etc ..... ?

Also, do you know why it is that I'm hearing a bit of bleed through on adjacent tracks (backward) and very low frequencies still present from previous recordings ? They're pretty low in volume but still audible.

Thanks!

Daniel :)

Daniel, I think the erase/record head is the problem if severe bleed-thru can be heard.
Did you try record with just 456 tape or ?
Buying new heads, give Joe a try and see if maybe he can help you.
Joe's email:
jodun@usinternet.com
Website: www.magneticheadstockroom.com
Phone: (763) 545-7538
Joe has alot of experince and knowledge about heads Daniel. :)
I have one Akai GX-270 D for parts, but this is a Quad model (SS)and has different heads...

Good Luck
