I have a C1 and have used it mainly on male vocals where it has been a very useful tool.

It works on a few female voices but not as often as male.

I also own some other high end mics (2k+) that I can say the same about. Good in some applications but blows in others.

I like the C1 on electric guitars. I think the MXL V93 is more versatile for vox and acoustics.

I like mine on vocals and acoustic guiter, and it definately points out the fact that I have a crappy, noisy room.....:) Using headphones, I can hear my wife talking on the other side of the house.....(Condenser mics are fun)

Still playing with it as a drum overhead, but probably going to go with something else eventually.

1st condenser mic for me, so far I'm happy, but we'll see when I get everything else up to snuff.

I like the C1, I have been experimenting using it on my Marshall.
I put it on one of the speakers and a 57 on a different speaker
so far for the projects I have tried it on I like what I am getting.
I have many mics so I try ideas to see how I can utilize them all in as many creative ways as possable

While I don't own a C1, I do have a B1 and a V67G which are very similar is size.

My discovery based upon stringent scientific methods is concluded.

The C1... based upon analogy will not..nor cannot be the Cats Pajammas. I tried 2 completely different sized cats, one male and one female cat and niether of them could fit into the mics.
Furthermore I believe trying to insert the cat into the mic body will damamge the cat. Cat Pajammas...nope.

My other scientific experiment was to see if the mics were the cats ass. This is also damaging to the cat upon insertion.

I conclude that Large Diaphragm Condensor Microphones cannot be the Cats as or the Cats Pajammas.
If I were to receive further funding, I could try the C1 with a Lion, but Im afraid that....the cats ass would be the only successful experiments. YMMNV

I love the C1. I use it on my male vocals, and it sounds awesome. However, a de-esser is a good processor to have around...

I go with Justin's opinion. Paired with a nice pre its a nice vocal mic for the buck.

I have a C1 and an Oktava 319. The C1 is much more clear and present than the 319. The C1 tends to sit in a mix easily.

One thing I have been noticing lately about the C1 is that when used with acoustic guitar, it is almost as if the mic is adding a slight bit of reverb. So you might say it has depth, too. Maybe this characterisitc is what allows it so sit in the mix easily.

The C1 is used on my wife, who is VERY loud, and not at all breathy. She LOVES it. I find that a certain frequency in her range causes the mic to distort ever so slightly. That bugs the crap out of me. She doesn't hear it. Go figure.

I'd say a good mic for the money.

Why has this thread suddenly returned from the dead? It's kid of like one of those recurring diseases that you thought was in remission.

It seems when the board is slow (few post)... the bbs brings up old threads to make it look like the board is more active... this is one of those old threads that poped up on it's own.

Actually, its pretty easy to see that McGrooves pulled up the post after about five months of it being in "remission."

Besides that- who really cares how old it is?

It does look that way... but actually MrGrooves posted to the thread after the thread poped up on it's own.

Besides that... other than this being an old thread, I don't think anyone really cares about an old poll that is closed.

The way it popped up was somebody voted in the poll (which bumps it back to the top), and it's not closed, and several new votes have been made since it came back to the top, so there is still some interest in the subject.

You'd think somebody with almost 4k posts would know that.

Duh.

You are such an ignoramus.

Good Lord!!! Its POPPED

I don't think the Pope had anything to do with this thread. The first time I thought it was a simple mistake. The second time it was annoying.

To my understanding, Pope can only be a noun. Something cannot be "poped."

Popped up, brought up, reposted, back from the dead, or call it whatever you want... but that's what happened.

"Regards"... yeah right.
