It's not bad at all, but overall, I'd say it needs some more low mids and less above about 4K.

This is screaming for vocals, lol.

I'm saving up the cash money for a studio projects C1, so I'm just working on my mixing chops so I'm prepared when I have to track and mix a whole song. I bet adding vocals to the mix is gonna make it even harder.

It's better than the last version. Cleaner. Like Chris said, needs low mids. You changed the guitar part a bit didn't you?

I changed the guitar parts a little so they would flow better, then used a little automation the bring the rhythm out a little when the lead cuts out.

I carved out about 1dB in the low mids and boosted about 1dB in the high mids because it sounded dull and muddy, but I guess this didn't translate well to other systems and may sound harsh.

I made the entire thing with a J-Station and drum samples.

I have no idea why I did this, and I know I'm gonna' regret posting it, but I did a quick vocal version of it...I went with a kind of cheesy Cheap Trick vibe, I think. Mostly, I just fucked up the low mids, lol. It's probably 180 degrees from what you're doing, but I couldn't help myself.

Dude I love Cheap Trick. My main influences are all of those awesome rock bands from the 70's. Cheap Trick, Thin Lizzy, Grand Funk... I have a huge collection of these giant black CD's that my dad gave me and thats where most of my song writing inspiration comes from, although nowadays it kinda sounds like that pop punk garbage thats all over the radio. I think you hit the nail right on the head.

Well that's a load off my mind, lmao. Thanks. Just say the word and I'll be happy to delete it...didn't mean to hijack your thread. I just liked it.

I think you should leave it. You were suprisingly close to the exact melody that I wrote for it, but it was pretty predictable anyway because it follows the guitar part pretty closely.

You guys just made the theme for the next big MTV reality series :D
