ok im ganna buy the delta 44 ..but! it says it doesent have midi......does this mean it wont playback my .midi files?

not in itself, but if you still have your stock card you can use both if it has a midi port.

It means it has neither an on-board MIDI synth chip nor a MIDI interface.
You can still play MIDI files via a soft synth, but to get MIDI data into and out of the computer you'll need a MIDI interface.
If you don't need four simultaneous inputs, perhaps you could consider the Audiophile from the same manufacturer; it has two analog inputs plus a MIDI interface and is significantly cheaper.
If you are only playing pre-existing MIDI files and using a soft synth as the MIDI sound source, you don't need a MIDI interface.
As stealthtech suggests, you can likely use the existing sound hardware in the PC for a MIDI interface (with a gameport adapter) and/or as a synth.

SPINSTERONE yes i do...its a SOundblaster PCI 128 ...so i can just leave the stockcard in there and stick the new delta 44 in a differnt port and it will work fine???....does the delta 44 come with any additional software?

nevermind about that guys...i read up on the specs at www.sweetwater.com and they said the card comes with software for setting it up....ok one more question..compared to my stock soundcard... how much better sounding will this card sound????satchvaisoul said:

haha HangDawg .....it better sound "Loads!!!!!" better because I just spent 230$ of my own Christmas money on it !! i hope im not dissapointed ... the thing should get here by tuesday or so.... i cant wait!!!! thanks for the help everyone!!!!
