Has anyone used the OwensCorning QuietZone Acoustic Wall Framing? They make a 2 piece stud with resilient channel built in. The "wood" material is Laminated Strand Lumber. Says it "eliminates the need for staggered stud construction or conventional resilient channel." Comes in 2x4 (up to 10' wall) and 2x6 (up to 14' wall). Site is http://www.owenscorning.com/around/sound/products/wallframing.asp to get the data sheet.
I called our local Lowes Building Supply and they didn't have a clue. Then called 1-800-GET-PINK. They faxed a price list to Lowes and should be calling me shortly with prices. Will post prices when I get them.
Also, ran across an "acoustic" door made by Primdor (Masonite) at the OwensCorning site. Says it comes with "commercial" seals and a bottom seal plate that drops when the door is closed. Attenuation is 10dB. Doesn't seem like much but I don't know anything about standard solid doors.
