Back in the early 80's I worked in a studio and they got a piece of equipment that I believe was called a Leslie (it was vintage than). I believe it had a speaker in it that emitted sound through a spinning horn in the top of a wooden cabnit. The effect was changed by changing the speed of the spinning horn...Anyone familier or know the correct name ? I tried the google thing but Im not sure if I have the correct name..

Suzuki-Hammond is still building Leslie speakers and Hammond organs.

For a less expensive alternative, Motion Sound makes a knockoff with a simulated low rotor.

They don't still make the authentic Leslie's, do they? I don't think they do.

Yeah, and they sound mighty sweet with a Hammond B3 too! The 122 is a great one.

My church has a B-3 with a leslie and there is nothing like it. We have a Black Brother that can make the thing just talk. For some reason nobody can play a hammon like a Brother. I can listen to those guys play for hours.

My 147 is one of my secret weapons. NOTHING sounds like a Leslie except another Leslie. It's not just the rotating horns, it's the 40 watt tube amp in it, the cabinet, etc.
