When I saw that in Musicians Friend I did a double take as well. I own 2 Epi's. An SJ-200 acoustic which is fantastic...highly recomended, sounds great and plays great and its a great price. I also have an Epi Les Paul Junior that is a total piece of crap, damn thing never stays in tune.

holy shit dude! how did I miss these! THey look unbelievably cool. That H-555 on the website is just about what I need. Didn't see the blues deluxe.

I'm gonna stop by a dealer today and ask some questions.

thanks!

I got a quote on the H555, $2400 and I can't pick the color.. Does that sound right?

ok. I saw the blues deluxe somewhere else. It looks nice with the bigsby but much smaller than what I'd like. part of the aesthetic value is the size. I'm a pretty big dude so I like big guitars. I've even thought about jazz boxes like that Epi Broadway just to avoid looking ridiculous.

You can get one that is the size of an ES-335. Get the one with the center block though. IMO those sound much better. That H555 quote seemse pretty high. Must be upgraded up the wazoo. The more plain ones are around a grand. That's what Ed Roman said he's selling them for anyway. Who did you get the quote from? I bet if you call or email Ed he could get you a better deal.

I'm in love with the Class of 59's right now. *swoon*

And jimistone, when LP's first came out they were a few hundred. Now people are buying them up towards $100,000. If you wait a few years that guitar is going to be worth much more than you pay for it. Besides, they're going to play better than any $500 guitar you've ever gotten your mits on (IMO). It's not a Korean LP bolt on copy that is going to be worth 50 bucks in twenty years. Think about it this way. You can get a Heritage LP with a quited maple top for about the price of a Gibson Standard LP.

That is interesting. Especially because I picked up my Les Paul Standard for $800.

I should have said new Les Paul STUDIO.
($800 for a Standard would be nice).

Hey guhlenn suck my dick you gay bitch...i don't care if i have an attitude problem..don't worry about it..

"Wow! You've gotten some sweet deals.

The best I ever did was $250.00 for a 1964 Gibson Firebird"

man, i'd love to have a '64 firebird!

i think firebirds are the coolest looking guitars...well its a tie between firebirds and strats

Gibson firebirds are a good example of what im talking about...the brand new ones are close to $2000 and i've seen some REALLY nice ones go for 800 bucks on ebay

so, why pay 2 grand when you can get one for $800 bucks....or $250?

someone got a les paul custom for $250...cause thats what i sold mine for (so i could buy a boat motor of all things...i regret selling it, but hey, i made 150 bucks off the deal)

You ask a guy to suck your dick and you accuse him of being gay?

Nothing against any other makers out there...but a Gibson is a Gibson. Sure some other people might make a guitar with better this or better that, but it still ins't a Gibson. I have a studio that I got BRAND NEW for $750 back at the end of 1996.

And I just cant believe that Epiphone will ever reach the quality of Gibson. Maybe the old Epi from the '60s. Oh wait, I forgot....Gibson released those Goth models huh? Nevermind.

I would still take my studio over any EpiLP anyday. I don't care if Epiphone is made in Japan. Mine is American! So booya!!!!!!

(why do I have this feeling that some how my studio went from being, "Oh, you only have a studio........" to "Thats almost top of the line." ;-)

the old epiphone of the 60,s well they are the best vintage deals still to be had or should i say almost be had

the differences were mostly cosmetic yes i know gibsons did run some different pickups machine heads etc but mostly it was pure cosmetic tweaking all those guitars were made on the same benches by the same people and some of those peoples work was very messy indeed not all but some

anyway if your epiphone is a 60,s model get set their slowly but surley rising in price
