    This one's just for fun

A friend of mine stopped over last night and we put together a song he's been working on. This was just a fun little ditty that shouldn't be taken too seriously. It turned out pretty cool though. It's called "I Like To Watch". www.artistcollaboration.com/~blindowl/LikeToWatch.mp3 Comments...

www.artistcollaboration.com/~blindowl/SacGirl.mp3 Here's another Third Level tune that we are working on. Doug Millaway on the keys and wierd stuff and Rob Denton on the guitar. This is an unusual tune that's kinda Zappa-ish. It's fun, but strange. Saccharin Girl. Doug

    16 Bars to fame...maybe.

Here ya go. I put this song together and left a 16 bar break at about 2:30 so all you guys can try your hand at a lead section. Everybody give it a try and we'll see who comes up with some of the better ideas. The song is called Picture This. Of course we (Third Level) will put our own spin on...

    Cleaning up pops and clicks...

I am going back to my old 4 track tapes and pulling some material from them for various reasons. What do you recommend for cleaning up such material? Is there a plugin for Cubase, Wavelab, or Soundforge that might help? I do have a song that I posted that I did on 4 track that turned out...

Jazz Fusion - mix #2 - Not So Fast

www.artistcollaboration.com/~blindowl/NotSoFast.mp3 Here is the latest and nearly final mix of this tune. There are some changes. I put in a piano lead and Rob replaced a few spots on the guitar work. In addition, we shortened it up a bit. We tried a synth solo, but it just didn't cut it...

    drawing volume levels

I am using a legal copy of Cubase VST 5.1. I want to use the pencil tool and edit the volume level for individual audio tracks using the pencil tool. I can do this on the midi tracks in the edit window, but I can't seem to figure it out for audio. I've looked in the manual, but I uess I don't...

    Midi Over Lan

I am just about ready to pull my hair out. Everything I’ver read about setting up MOL is that it is very simple. I have spent hours on getting my two machines to cooperate, and still no success. The Forum at the MusicLab site is pretty useless, and I know there are a couple of users here...

I need to record a saxophone next week and have never done it before. What type of mic should I use and what technique should be used in aiming the mic and so forth. Any ideas are appreciated. Doug

    Jazz Fusion song - assistance

Here is a song that we are working on at present. We have a saxophone player coming in next week to add some lead. I'n thinking about replacing a good part of the second guitar lead with the sax (the section after the synth bass break). Just wondering what you think...

    Steinberg Groove Agent at work

Her is a tune I finished last night using Groove Agent. It's fairly mellow, but it should give you an idea of the quality of the samples and the playing. I found it to be very user friendly. The tune is called "Sisters". http//www.artistcollaboration.com/~blindowl/sister.mp3 Doug

    Early mix - assistance needed

This is an early mix of this tune. I have some things to do with panning, EQ, and some volume issues on a few parts, but for the most part, the song is well on its way. Comments appreciated. http://www.artistcollaboration.com/~blindowl/NoExcuses2.mp3
