For those of you who work on Pro Tools system ...
assuming that in the studio I work on HD version ... and and home I have lets say Digi 001 (or even old Audiomedia III) or new Mbox ...
can I write HD session to disk and then continue editing it on PT LE at home ... and than bring back to studio...
In the room I 'work' - I noticed that on my work place I have a huge 120 Hz resonance which makes my mixing very difficult (also listening is very tiring due to this).
Here is the case - I've got two minitors set on my desk on sitting on two pads (height adjustments).
If I move back from...
I recently purchased Great River mp1nv - and I'm already satisfied by results for DI (bass) and micing guitar cabinet.
Still - I remember many people mentioning the 'trick' to slam input part really hard and back output stage off.
Hence - I've got question - how do you actually do this ???
If...
and regarding plugins - I think Native Intrument - will be releasing some guitar dedicated modelling suite (amp, cabinet, mic positioning) soon (think tommorow - on MusikMesse show)
ok ... so who have tried The Brick preamp by Groove Tubes ?
How well does it work with dynamic and condenser mics ?
how well does it work as Bass DI ?
how about vocal tracking ? heavy guitar tracking ?
I seek for distinctable preamp with its own character - still high quality? The Brick is in...
Here is my dillema:
- I do record for my project:
> bass DI
> vocal (condenser - SP B1)
> guitars - bu micing the cab (sm57, e609, SPB1)
So my thought would be to get nice 2 chanell preamp that I can track guitars with two microphones at same time (to give it a flavour of both).
Within...
... and additionally - when you pulled tubes out - you shoud connect speaker differently - i.e. same impedance speaker to half of this value on amp.
f.e.
8 Ohm cab > 4 Ohm speaker out
16 Ohm cab > 8 Ohm speaker out
you pull two outer power tubes (or two inner) out and have 50W instead of 100. If you are yousing tube rectifier - you should also pull out one of rectifiers tubes to ensure proper work of an amp.
I tried that and it works completely fine
this is because AC97 card that comes with computer has really shitty A/D converters. Sorry but small investments in audio card can be beneficial not only in recording - but in overall work with sound.
Re: Whewww! this kicks!
thanks for positive feedback :-)
actually I do have this idea in mind for remix of track. I would like to do kind of electronic remix of that (in Nine Inch Nails style) when I have some time :-)
thanks for possitive comments ! :-)
thats true - this will be redone - I've put it like this to let him (animation creator) judge if this is kind of the effect he's after.
And the text will appear on screen as well :-)
Yes - I'm currently working on independent heavy metal project under...
I'll be greatful if you give it a try and listen to piece of music I recently done for friend of mine. It is illustration music for computer animation which is done by friend of mine. I did the music (composed, recorded and mixed) and now he is finishing animation...
I also cannot dig SM57. Every time I approach it - it kills my tone :(
so what I finally started using is SP B1 pretty close to grill, and ! yeah ! what a diffrence ! open, crunchy warm tone (even though it is hi-gain).
I'm still considering buying Sennheiser MD421 in place of sm57 that I cant...
