... and additionally - when you pulled tubes out - you shoud connect speaker differently - i.e. same impedance speaker to half of this value on amp. f.e. 8 Ohm cab > 4 Ohm speaker out 16 Ohm cab > 8 Ohm speaker out

you pull two outer power tubes (or two inner) out and have 50W instead of 100. If you are yousing tube rectifier - you should also pull out one of rectifiers tubes to ensure proper work of an amp. I tried that and it works completely fine

this is because AC97 card that comes with computer has really shitty A/D converters. Sorry but small investments in audio card can be beneficial not only in recording - but in overall work with sound.
