I am using Sonar 2.2 on a P4 2.2GHz system with 512MB RAMs. My sound card is an Audiophile 2496. When I play back MIDI files using EDIROL VSC (through Synth Rack) there is no problems. But when I use DreamStation Dxi2 (also through Synth Rack) the sound slows down by half and pitch one octave...

I am using an Audiophile 2496 card with Sonar 2. Since the card does not have MIDI playback what would be a good Software Synth to buy? I was told the Yamaha XG Player is a good one. Any comments appreciated.

I need to edit some MIDI files. Basically I need to remove the lead instruments so that I will end up having a backing track. I do not own a keyboard that could do this but prefer to do it on my computer. Are there anysoftware that will allow me to do this? Thanks. RonL

I have some friends telling me that using a dedicated CD Recorder to copy CDs rather that a computer's CD Writer will give better sound, clarity and whatnot. This may have been discussed here before but I find that hard to believe. Any comments/discussions on this appreciated. RonL

Since I change my sundcard from a SB Live to Audiophile 2496 I cannot create any Audio CD using the Adaptec CD Creator program. It simply cannot scan the tracks. Please help. TIA

I just installed an Audiophile 2496 card to my computer. Evrything works as normal except I cannot play music CD now. MP3 CDs works fine through both my CD-ROM and CD-RW drives. I think there might be a configuration problem. My previous card was a SB Live. Any suggestions appreciated. TIA. RonL
