How do I delete a song and all of its audio data?

This is driving me nuts. On my computer, it seems that all of the PA 9 audio data from all of the songs that I record is stored in one giant folder in Cakewalk. (To open a song, I'm simply opening a shortcut to all of the audio files). So how do I delete a single song with all of its data...

    snare and kick compressor settings?

Hi all, I'm pretty lousy at recording drums. Could someone share with me some typical compressor settings for snare and kick drums? I know that this will depend on the drummer and the sound that I am after - I'm just looking for a setting to start with. This is for a rock band - I would like to...

I've lost my master volume level meter in PA9!!!

Hi everyone, Anybody ever have this problem? When I'm mixing in console view, I can see all of the levels for each track, but all of a sudden, I can no longer see the master levels. This was quite helpful in helping me bee sure that the overall level of the mix was not clipping. Anybody know...

    EQ Plugins for PA 9?

Anyone know of any good EQ plugins for PA 9? I find the EQ graph that it comes tih very difficult to work with (I didn't do very well in physics) and would like to have a multiband graphic eq that looks more like an outboard unit. Any ideas?

Low Recorded Volume of PA 9 Songs

Am I doing something wrong? When I record using PA 9, and mix down and burn to CD, it plays back at quite a low volume. My last project was mastered at a mastering house, but it seems to me that the quality of the recording was compromised when they raised the volume of the tracks at the...

    Drop Outs in PA 9

Help! I'm trying to record as new tune. I've recorded 23 tracks of audio, and now the tune keeps dropping out (on both playback and recording). I've adjusted the buffer to "safe," but it's still doing it. Is there anything else I can do to fix this? I'm bringing a drummer in later, and I know...

    Importing wave files into Cakewalk?

Any idea if it is possible to import wave files into Cakewalk? Also, this is not really a Cakewalk question but proabaly an easy one for someone out there. I often use a free program called "Sound Studio" to convert songs from CDs to Wav files. This program allows me to cut and paste bits and...

    Burning CDs in PA 9

There has got to be an easy way to burn a project from PA9 straight to CD and be able to listen to it, right? I've been using mixdown to mix it to one track, and then mixing it down to wav form. Then I have to bring it into Samplitude, and convert it to MP3. Then I've been using Jam on my Mac...

Mic Cable wired out of phase

Some dude told me that he had a mic cable wired out of phase so that when he used it to mic a kick drum, he wouldn't pick up nearly as much of the snare through the kick mic. Could somebody explain how the hell this works? Or if it wirks?

    Cheap Headphones with no leakage!!!

Heres an awesome tip for those of you looking for a good set of headphones that won't bleed into the vocal and drum mics. A sound guy I know builds headphones into protective hearing muffs. No kidding, this guy takes Peltor hearing muffs (the kind that have the headband at the top), opens them...

What is the best bang for the buck kick drum mic?

I want to buy a really kick a$$ kick mic, but I don't want to fork out the dough for a AKG D12. What is a cost effective, but still great sounding alternative?

Great snare sounds with old school SM57.

For a long time, I've been using expensive Shure pencil mics to mic snare drums. The other day, I read a great article about the dude who records Macy Gray. He says he uses SM57 on snares. This is nothing new, but I could never get a great sound with it. This guy suggested moving it way back...

Is anyone using ProAudio 9 with Window ME?

I'm wondering if anybody is using PA9 and Window ME. I've heard that there might be compatability issue between the two. Just curious if anyone has managed to make everything work smoothly. I'm just not ready to upgrade to Sonar, and I quite like ME.

ProAudio 9 - Tracks not playing back in time with one another

I need Help! I'm running Pro Audio 9 on a PC (Windows ME). What's happening is that when I play back audio (and record) often one part of the song will play faster or slower than another. For example, the song will start fine, and then the bass track will start to play out of time with the drum...
