I just downloaded the demo version of NI Fm7 and I think it sounds pretty awesome. I'm more or less looking to add "texture" and "effects" to my tunes. I plan on using the Piano Roll to program everything, I'm patient. :) I really dig rich piano sounds, string sections, and weird noises. Looking...
Where do I adjust the volume level for monitoring in the Mia? I'm doing some recording and I want to remove the amp sound from my monitors (I can hear the amp by itself just fine ;) ). I basically don't want what I'm recording to be heard through the monitors.
I used to just click the little...
This is the first time I've messed around actually recording multiple tracks using the Mia soundcard. I have a DR-008 playing sampled drums, and I put down two rhythm guitar tracks. When I tried to add a harmony part on another track, all hell broke loose. :) All the timing was gone. I'm pretty...

I'm using two microphones on a guitar cabinet. I have the xlr cable for each going into channels 1 and 2 respectively on my mixer. I'm using the channel inserts on channels 1 and 2 (thanks, Track Rat :) ) to go to the inputs on my soundcard. In Sonar, when choosing an input, if I go with Mia...
I just bought an Echo Mia soundcard and a pair of Event TR6's. I like the speakers but I miss having the ability to just reach in front of me and adjust the volume. I need help setting them up to run off of my Yamaha mg10/2 mixer as opposed to connecting them directly to the Mia's outputs...
The drawbacks of trying to record and using computer speakers as monitors has become painfully obvious to me. What I'm hearing while working on a project, and how the final outcome sounds to others is totally different, especially on the low end.
I think it's time to invest in some nice...
This is a heavy, grinding instrumental. I used Sonar 3 Studio Edition, fxpansion dr008 loaded with DFH samples. I played a Charvel Traditional w/Duncans into a Bogner Uberschall. The cab is a little 1x12 with some kind of Celestion in it, don't know which one. It was miked with a 57 and a 421...
I'm very new at this, as you will soon see, so please excuse my ignorance. I've loaded the rock kit from DFH into dr008 and all the drum names appear in the pads.
I insert dr008 as a DXi instrument in sonar 3 and I use the following inputs and outputs:
MIDI track
In:Omni
Out:dr008

I just pre-ordered DFH2 with the included sampler. How well does N-Track work with MIDI and with drum programming in general? This is all new to me. I need to figure out the easiest way to get this stuff working so I can get back to playing guitar. :D
