I actually took yall advice to heart - please have a listen

Recently I've been making a few EDM tracks, and apparently I've been using the maximizer tool a bit too much. You fine folks pointed that out in my previous post. And your comments opened my ears :D Yes, it was squashed, bereft of any dynamics and quite frankly, not very nice to listen to. So! I...

At last, a new track. Laid back mix of various styles.

Friend of mine had some nice guitar chords, recorded them, loaded them in a sampler, and this laid back track was the result :) https://soundcloud.com/mysticnetherlands/casual-sioux I tried to make it sound 'warm', if that makes any sense. Did I succeed?

    Ultra commercial dance

Listening now on the laptop speakers, it feels like some of the sounds that are in the higher frequency regions are too loud? SoundClick artist: Krisis2008 - page with MP3 music downloads

    Commercial R&B/dance/rock/Gospel

Does this sound radio-friendly and commercial enough? http://soundcloud.com/mysticnetherlands/trouble-warning No weird freaky metal this time, but straight up radio-friendly shizzle :) Let me know what yall think! Any nitpicking on mix? Composition? The vocals I downloaded as is, so I can't do...

"Diet of Worms Revisited" - Carrousel of Life

Hi there, a new track. A glitchy, soundscapey yet hard prog metalrock track! Let me know what you guys like and do not like. I do not like: *) the acoustic guitars in the intro are a bit of tune (and they actually cause the listener to judge the lead guitar as being out of tune) *) the metal...

Arabic pop turning into hard Arabic jungle

The third installment under my Caroussel of Life moniker :) No guitars this time, but Arabic violin sections, Arabic recital of the Gospel of Luke and Arabic female vocals, wobbles, oboes, you name it :) http://soundcloud.com/carrouse-de-vie/the-gospel-of-luke To be honest, this is the first...

Carrousel of Life - Choices (for fans of Mr Bungle, Fantomas etc)

Another weird track for your listening pleasure! This time with the extremely talented Cageman on kitchen utensils, steam locomotif, slide and funk guitar. It's VERY hard to get the balance between parts that are mostly digital and parts with more normal instrunents right!!! Any tips...

For fans of Bungle, Estradasphere etc

A new monicker for music unbounded by genre, which ironically fits in the so-called 'genre defying' or 'genre hopping' errrr genre. The monicker is called Carrousel of Life and I hereby present the first track, called F.R.O.. Let me hear your thoughts! https://soundcloud.com/carrouse-de-vie/f-r-o

Mixing heavy solo with heavy rhythm guitar. Help wanted

Hi all, I'm having problems with mixing metal solos with metal rhythm parts. How do you guys normally approach this? I take out a little bit of the high end of the rhythm bus when the solo kicks in, and also drop the volume a little bit, but is sounds contrived, not natural. Someone advised to...

    Complextro mix okay?

I think the balance is okayish, although the symphony orchestra is a bit tame in the mix. Let me know what you think!

    Progressive metal (instrumental)

Just finished a new track today, finally. I have the feeling the levels are okay but is it crackling from clipping somewhere??

Bombastic, glitchy, experimental prog IDM (or, whatever)

Do the levels match throughout the whole song? I have a feeling that there's spots where the 'energy' (loudness?) is less?

"Breathe" - Mystic feat Farisha (DnB) how is that bass?

To master the right amount of bass, sub-bass and punch is difficult. I think I'm getting there but I might be wrong. Please let me know what you guys think of the mix, thanks!

    Arabic progressive metal-rock

This is actually an old one already. At that moment I thought the mix was quite okay, but listening to it now...mmmm it misses oomph, bass, clarity, basically everything that makes a real mix stand out. I would welcome any suggestions on how to make this have more impact!
