gay looking bass

The Dano DC Bass is a really nice playing bass. It is lightweight and has a gutsy sound when played with round wound strings. There is a solid bottom end with a throaty midrange. The DC guitar (Jimmy Page Model) can emulate the Rickenbacker Semi-Hollowbody. The most important qualities for an electric bass guitar are playability and sound. The Dano DC Bass contains both.

Huh.. Danelectro Longhorn.. and the Innuendo... and they look kinda fruity... 2+2=?

I'm not a fan of the aesthetics, but I'm a fan of the sound. I have a 30" scale Danelectro Hodad Baritone tuned A-A. Funk machine. I'll never get let it get away.

Gay?

Not gay!..............;)

Why does that bass strangely remind me of this axe that I saw in a now-closed local music store?

Information

Yay for seven year old threads!

I arrived at this thread as a result of a Dano DC bass search. Respecting the possibility that others could arrive here from the same result, I effort to provide
pertinent info regarding the discussed equipment. I hope it will prove helpful.
Thank you Ritzy for your encouraging welcome.

my axes are definitely all female and I'm the king of the harem.....:D

Shit I want one of those if I can find it full size, I can only find 3/4th size. How excellent would that be to be up one stage playing a hard rock song on a hello kitty guitar/bass?

Idon't care if it's a 7 year old thread, this still needs to be said. This thread is horrible. You wouldn't classify your guitars based on ethnicity. Why not? Because it'd be racist, and we're all far too liberal to be racist . Homosexuality, on the other hand, is absolutely fair game, apparently. Find a guitar you don't like, and call it 'gay'? It's disgusting and discriminatory, and I don't want to have to read it on a forum that anyone has access to. I'm sad we're halfway down the second page and noone else has said this. Grow up.

The flaw in this logic is that when you're talking about a black guitar, people assume you mean a black guitar.

I had a danelectro 56 reissue for a while - nice tone but a very basic beast.

Wow - way to find an ancient thread....plus only Fender Basses are cool....:D

Thats not a gay guitar... THIS is a gay guitar!

To be fair people do spend most of the first page of this thread taking the mikey out of the whole idea of calling a guitar "gay" without actually straight out saying how silly it is.

Also I wasn't sure if the person who started this thread actually liked the guitar because they thought it was gay?

You are certainly spot on with the hierarchy of hate thing, I'm always a bit shocked by the American "retard" thing as obviously we have a different hierarchy here in the u.k.

Much qudos to you for speaking out Andy!
I'm dead impressed. You give me hope for the future of the world in these difficult times! You keep your firebrand spirit alive! :)

Just be careful out there!

love

Playing anything on a hello kitty guitar/bass would be excellent! I love it!
We need more hello kitty instruments! :)
