My 6505 just hums like crazy through each channel, and it gets louder, of course, as the gain goes up. I know it didn't have the hum before I started a tour. Somewhere in the middle of the tour the hum got loud. I've ben through all the cables, swapped tubes, still has the hum. I had the...
I've gotten to a point where I want to hook up more power to my live rig. I have the two tops and the two sub cabs for a stereo rig. I have a xover and amps for the tops and a xover and amps for the bottoms. I want to duplicate this exact setup for double the power. I'm lost. haha I didn't...
Anyone have experience with the Tascam Fireone? I need a laptop interface for "bedroom riffs"
I have the Tascam Us2400 in my studio, so I could never go back to the keyboard and mouse jive. This looks cool...
I'm interested in buying the 1641. I've seen a few posts about it. I want to get as much info about the 1641 through this thread. I will be using it to track my riffs on my laptop with SONAR 6. Any better options for laptop interface in this price range...
I am left handed, so I recently picked up an Epi Iommi sg. THEY MADE THIS ONE AS GOOD AS THE GIBSON! This guitar is sooo baddass. It's REAL heavy for an SG. Heavy ass mahoghany! Heavy like a Les Paul. Anyone know the specific mahoghany used fo this ax? It's special, cause my other all...
Kinda off topic, sorry. I have a pair of sp2s. I want to x them, but I have no clue. They're is a bi-amp neutrik input. I just have normal 2 channel amps and a DBX crosover. Do I need a special Peavey "bi-amp" amp to properly x these speaks?
I have Ddrum trigs (the Red ones) for my kick, snare, and three toms. I have a DM5. I get hella false triggering. Just random sounds. My drummer is very consistent. I have jacked with all the settings (Velocity, gain) to no avail. Any comments will be helpful.
Does anyone know the story behind this? The pieces of tape on the edges of the neck humbucker. Vai's has Konk written on his. I've seen some of Dime's guitars with the tape on the edge of the neck pickup as well. As soon as I know why, I'm gonna do it too!
Does anyone use DFHS drum software with Sonar 5. I have never used midi before. I have a Korg Triton extreme, and hoping to use this to control the DFHS software. I'm real ignorant to midi usage. I've heard good things about DFHS though, so I'm diving in. Man, do I sound like a dumbass! :o
I was just given a Soundtracs 16816. It looks pretty vintage. Made by "Soundout Laboratories Limited" Surrey, England, with a number TLX8951073. Any info on this board? The 1073 sounds interesting! I need a power supply for the darn thing.
I'm replacing all four 75 watt celestions in a Marshall cab, with Vintage 30s. I now have to decide what ohmage I need. Can anyone explain the sonic differences between 8 and 16 ohm speaks? I have heard that 8 ohm speaks have more low end, and 16 ohms are brighter.
How well do condensor mics hold up close miced on drums (snare, kick, toms) or bass? I have heard the element can stretch form high SPLs. I also mic my 4x12 cab, and it is very loud, with a condensor. Mr. Gearst?

I picked up a 4050 this weekend. Love it! I've only used it on a 4x12 so far. It has a very VERY clean, flat response! I can't even tell that it's there! I cannot wait to try it on a singer's voice. Trying to figure out a use for the figure 8. Maybe I'll put two cabs facing each other...
Man, I just saw Prong at the Bottleneck in Lawrence, KS 3/12. I had the time of my life. I had to drive 3 hours across Missouri through tornadic weather, but it was well worth it. I hung out with Tommy Victor for about a half hour before the show. The nicest dude you could ever meet. He's...
Looking for a great vocal mic around $500. It will be a "workhorse" mic. I'll use it with a Great River pre, mainly for vocals, and on a loud, high gain, 4x12 cab. Having been disappointed with the Rode NT1 A (sibilance) on vocals, I'm looking at these:

Studio Projects T3
AT 3060
