As to your orignal question an inverted powerchord is just that... WHile you can say it's the Root and 4th... It is Really, IMO a Root and 5th... Take an a powerchord for example... Root and 5th would be A and E right? Root and 4th would be A and D A is the 5th in a D powerchord I would...

You can also make the brain, if you wanted... About $100-$150... Gotta be electronically inclined though. The homemade brain is just a controller, no sound module, But it'd allow 15 input triggers... and a pedal.

Nope, Ocnor, I don't listen to every mix that's posted up here... I've not time, as I have dial-up, I would be spending hours downloading them all. Let alone listening time. I listen to a couple here and there though.

Ocnor... That's how the contests are run over at my other "stompin' grounds" musesmuse.com. While it seems to work well, it does take a LOT of time to listen to everyone's stuff. I think for our purposes here, three judges is likely to be enough. I have a lot of fun with these, even if I come...

I'd actually, This past weekend, Started a much more "tighter" Or "less open" sounding mix... While it's not what I originally was wanting to do... It's more a "common" type of mix.

See, I'd just as soon leave out both the distorted guit, AND the backing vocals. As I really don't care for either... Guess I'll have to play around some more. Thanks for the insight about how you plan to judge... :D ;)

I think part of my problem in mixing this is... The song doesn't really lend itself at all to artistic leeway within the mixing. Unfortunately, that's what I do, I try to experiment and in most cases it works. This one is just too 'pure" for that, I suppose. Like Chris's reference mix... While...
