    AV Forum

Hi, can anyone recommend a good AV forum which is to video what this forum is to audio? Thanks

    pre-roll post roll

How do you setup cubase to preroll in the way that protools does - ie, on a punch to actually begin recording before you press record - so that you can stretch the sound file back if you hit record a bit late

    mastering - phase issues

In a mastering session I attended, I noticed the engineer had this weird graphic display which is supposed to indicate if the mix has phasing issues - or maybe it's some kind of MS display. Does anyone know what tools mastering engineers use to deal with phase and stereo image? Are there any...

    fx are pre volume envelope?!

I have a vocal track where I'd like to do major smoothing using volume envelopes, and then put some mild compression on top of that. Unfortunately, cubase is routing the compressor in before the envleope, so the compressor is hitting hard at the the big peaks which I'm trying to tame with the...

    Faders not sensitive enough

Any way to change the sensitivity of the faders in Cubase? I'd like to be able to control with a sensitivity of 1/10th a db, but the finest I can adjust them is about .25 or .3 dbs - for better than that i have to type in the number.

multiple signal path to external fx plugin

Lets say I want to send signal to a reverb along two different pathways. 1 direct, and the 2nd passing first through an EQ. Before, I would have set up 2 fx channels - both outputing to the reverb. On the 2nd channel I'd put the reverb as an insert. Now i'm using Cubase's external fx VST...

    slight recording latency with HD192

When recording in cubase with the motu HD192, I'm getting about 1.5ms of latency which isn't being compensated. IE if I route an output straight into an input and record, the newly recorded track is about 1.5ms delayed from the original. Why would this happen? Why isn't cubase fully compensating...

    sends envelopes

A few questions about sends. I'd very much appreciate some help from those of you more experienced with Cubase SX - I'm just starting out.... First, is there a shortcut to get to the sends envelopes which would save me having to open the volume, pan, and 5 eq envelopes before getting to the...

    Latency Plugins

What's with the newer plugins having all this latency? Why do they need to have so much latency if the CPU is easily able to process them in real time? It's realy nice to have no lag between when you change a setting and when you hear the change. Plugin latency is messing all that up. There must...

    ntrack flawed

I'm sorry to have to say this, because i'm a long time ntrack user and love the intuitiveness and ease of use of the interface, but Ntrack has serious problems dealing with plugin latency. Since the arrival of latency plugins, ntrack has been plagued with latency mismatching issues. The current...

    GlissEQ

It's not too expensive - and different sounding - so I'm thinking of going in for it. What do you all think, is the GlissEQ any good?

    cpu usage while idling

I noticed something funny in cubase. CPU usage does not appear to change between when the song is playing and when it is stopped. So if I load up with plugins and amusing say 50% of my cpu - that remains constant whether playing or stopped. If I bypass plugins - it immediately goes down. I...
