:)

Pretty easy to make one and for a LOT less than the Yamaha.
In fact, now that I'm back in a band, we use it for live too.
I blend a Beta 52 up close on the inside for the click/attack and the sub for a good oomph.
Do we need it?
nah....but it sounds good and chicks dig it.
:D

This is most important!

I can see why it would be used live, but does it have a lot of use in the studio?

To be honest, I track with it every time but actually use it in the mix about half of that.
I was doing one tune that I put some hall reverb on just the sub track that came out pretty awesome. :) Most definitely fit the tune I was doing.

Just more options at mix time.

Exactly. It comes in ahead of the bottom snare mic that I usually don't use. Though some times it is just the thing that helps to push a kick when eq don't cut it with other mic's. And besides, it's there, and I can. HA!

Nice! I have found my subkick to work best building a tunnel and placing the subkick at end about 6' from the kick. There is a kick shell at end with 2 1" PVC layed across with 2 sleeping bags and that foam bed thing draped over. Ghetto as hell but does the trick nicely. :)

Obviously the polarity needs to be flipped. Subs galore.

Haha,,,first thing i thought of was Joey in Friends....

"Ya built a fort, Didn'tcha???"

.......

"Kinda :o"

I built a tunnel right under my house to the neighbors house.
Tonight is the night I steal their cable and hook up to their electricity!
