Hi, Ya’ll

I just got a Yamaha MT8X 8-track cassette recorder from the UK for use in CA. I knew I would need to get a step-down converter from the UK’s 240 voltz to 120 voltz use for the US.

Unfortunately, I didn’t realize the hertz differences in going from 50 hertz to 60 hertz that could be bad for the motor.

From what I’ve read, it still seems like I can get decent performance but it will put additional stress on the motor.

Was curious if I blew it with this mistake or If I could remedy this and still enjoy the unit. Looking to get the Pyle step-down convertor and a power conditioner for possible hum issues. I don’t know if a VFD would work but it seems like a lot of extra units to get this to work well. I’m possibly overthinking it.
Thanks.
