Hello everybody!

I'm thinking to get a 4416. The 4416 with the CDR included it's a little expensive to me at this moment.

I have a Yamaha 8x8x24 CD-R.

If I connect this CDR to the 4416 SCSI port, it will work?
Will I import audio, make masters and save data as if it was the AW4416 with the original CD-R?

Thanks a lot.

Yo Bity, Bity, Bity:

If you buy the 4416, it is a self-contained DAW with CDR-R.

You can do almost anything you want with the unit; however, research to make sure.

I own the 2816 and it's a great box -- magnificent sound quality.

You can also mix down to regular cassette tape via the analog outs on the back of the 4416/2816; as well, you can mix to digital via the digital outs on the back of either box.

It is a unique box. There may be better platforms out there that cost more $$; but for the buck, the Yamaha 4416/2816 is a good buy.

Happy researching,

My personal preference is to keep the cd burner you have that is external. It should work with the SCSI if not, get a 24/96 sound card with a digital I/O and transfer to the PC for burning. Unless you bought the waves daughter card, you might have better luck burning from the PC. a decent 24/96 sound card for the pc is way cheaper than the Yamaha CD-R/RW device.

Peace,
Dennis
