XP help!

I have a dedicated computer setup for recording, but don't feel I'm getting the max out of it...
I saw the tweakxp listed below, but was wondering if there were any sites that would include directions on how to optimize the system without installing anything. I also read another post dealing with optimizing 98, but many of the things it mentioned are in different places (i.e., I'm a dumbass and can't find them!)
