Well, guys... I said "sorry" and I changed my signature.

I'm not the groveling type. Take it or leave it.

Rank,

For someone who claims to have excelled at English, you are showing a propensity for "misunderstanding" what others have written.

God, I get rid of a guitarist and keyboard player just on midnight, now at 2.30am I'm sitting behind the console tracking another guitarist and dealing with a self professed genius.

Neil Young (another old friend from the Buffalo Springfield days) is a special case. He's an amazing songwriter and singer (yes, I said singer), but his guitar playing can go from erratic to brilliant (for his songs). He was a loose cannon in Buffalo Springfield and in C,S,N,&Y. Sometimes, he could drag the whole group down, and at other times, he could take them to unimagined heights.

That's a very astute observation regarding NY. He's either "on" or "off," and not a whole lot in between.

ausrock-me misunderstanding what others have written? have you heard of the word hypocrite? look it up.
you say that i am an self professed genius? my statement was in response to someone saying i was not smart enough to critique a internet posting.
i think that there is some justification in my statement of not being a fool at english.
you have blatently missed the reason for my statement, which makes what you said sound foolish.
good luck finding a guitarist for your polka band which im sure will sell many an album........

nothing i have said is an attack on harvey. he seems to have alot of respect from people around here, so obviously he must have earnt it.
No one like their idols being attacked, whatever the form may be. It Turns out it was not an attack on harvey , but the context it was written in-"technique"- lead me to believe something was being said about their skills as musicians.
so before you rip me to shreds for saying something that does not agree with mr gerst, take a minute to see where im coming from. even if you dont agree, no reason to call me an ignoramus or uneducated. Im no einsteen but i dont deserve to have my intelligence mocked on an internet chatboard.

Didnt you just spew forth this diatribe , the topic of which was "I have better things to do with my time than to spend them on internet chatboards hahahahaahhahahaah" So why do you care??If you are intelligent, and confident in your intellect , who cares what anyone says? The very fact that you have a gripe with them insulting you shows that you care and obviously dont have better things to do with your time than to spend here on this "home recording website"
And I just came off stage about an hour and a half ago. I am a musician and a recordist.........

Even still I like to stop in here...Great info from great minds(like Harvey). This place is hardly to be taken lightly...myriad useful info. Even for english comprehension challenged lawyer/musician wannabes from OZ.....

;) :p :D

kidding man. lighten up. If you say something about one of the elders here(Harvey, Dot, etc), theres going to be backlash. Thats the long and short of it.

a german called "teddy ray".

what more do i need to say

have you ever visited Aus or "oz" as non-australians call it? you'd find it is the most light hearted place on the planet. when i went to germany i asked myself why everyone takes such small things so seriously. the resposes on this board are a testament to that. a few small comments sure do rock the boat. especially gets on the nerves of the self revering americans. a "world series" of baseball with only american teams playing? i dont get that.

im just kidding fellers, lets all just chill out.

It's nice to hear people recognize Neil Young as a great singer.

That reminds me of a funny Neil Young story:

Neil and I were talking once (back in his Buffalo Springfield days) and I was commenting about a great song he had written which contained the line, "no time for change" and how I thought it was very profound - till he told me it was about a waitress at the Troubador and how he didn't leave her a tip!!! I was shattered.

That reminds me a bit, in some odd way, about when i heard about his song "let's roll" or whatever it's called, pro-war propaganda. Then i lost most of the respect i had for him. But some of his records from the 60's and 70's, along with the CSNY - 4way street are undeniably great records. Saw him live 4 years ago. Excellent show.
He had developed a very lyrical, narrative style in his solo work. I find his "uglier" style on "Everybody knows this is nowhere" great as well,
it shows a strong integrity to avoid effective solutions. Most people who try to mimic that style looses the point entirely.
If you have any more anecdotes from earlier days, it'd be very nice to hear, since this thread collapsed on its own lack of content anyway.

i have to take issue with this. "Let's Roll" was a tribute to the brave men and women who took over an al Queda-hijacked plane and sacrificed their lives by crashing that plane into the Pennsylvania countryside rather than let al Queda have control over that plane for a worse purpose.

how that can be considered "pro-war propaganda" is beyond me. It's a tribute to brave people who sacrificed their lives in order to keep that plane from being crashed into another building.....unless maybe you wanted to see more buildings in the US knocked down. *rolls eyes*

using your logic, "ohio" is pro-war as well, i suppose......and "southern man" is pro-KKK?

really, i don't think ANYTHING neil has ever written can be considered "pro-war".....and far from it. I think Neil would be the last person on the planet (aside from Willie Nelson, maybe) who would be considered a Hawk.

cheers,
wade

That reminds me of when I made out with Neil Young after a show. This was back during his Goldrush tour. He was very gentle and laid me down on a satin futon. He stroked my hair and tenderly caressed my buttery hands. He told me they were beautiful hands. Fine hands.

Hmmm...I'm really enjoying this ignore feature. I've almost forgotten what assholes these guys are.

I am not German, not one percent of me. I am a diplomacy officer here for the US Military. I have been to Australia. Self revering americans???You say bullshit like that and expect people to lay off you??You have a tendency to eat your foot with every sentence. If I were you, id just lurk for a while, learn how to watch your mouth and then come back (or dont). Seriously man, you need to watch how you talk to folks here. You have insulted two Nationalities of people , as well as a fine member of the community here.I know you are just a kid, but theres no excuse for that idiotic behavior. Thats all I am going to say here.

I'll bet your pussy was sore afterwards, huh? You sound like the Mystery Records/Christian/Ted Philips bitch.

Yo,
Ugly and rank man,

Baseball: Invented in the USA. For years it was the only place it was played. Besides, the White Sox championship celebration prominently featuered the flag of Venezuala. (sp?)

If you Aussies want to have a boom-a-rang world series, I can safely say that few americans would have a problem with it. I'll even bring a flag.
