Hi, Guys.

I am getting ready to order my Firepod and I can.t wait to record with the computer after going to the stand alone units for a while. I use Sonar 4, and my question is about being able to work for my own recordings in a seperate room from the computer. I cans set all my recording commands for sonar on the keyboard, but I won't be able to reach the keyboard while tracking in my room (small bathroom). Do any of you guys use a wireless keyboard to control your software? Do they make keyboard extensions that would go to another room? It would be so cool if I had a remote control for Sonar.

Thanks for any help.

Jeff

Been using a RF wireless keyboard from Logitech for 6 years with no issues. I've used the keyboard in the living room with the computer in the bedroom of a 1 bedroom apartment successfully.

That Tranzport unit becomes more and more tempting...mostly for when I'm doing a vocal take and am alone (almost all the time). It's really annoying setting the start point in advance, hitting record and then running through four door ways into the garage, into the vocal booth (5 total door-ish obstacles)...

I really see myself ordering one...I'll probably hold off 'til I see some user reviews though.

Wow

That thing sounds perfect. It would be like carrying my computer around the house. This means I will be able to record my guitar away from the computer screen. Damn, I gotta have one, bad.

Looks like I better start saving.

That reminds me when I was trying to figure out how to build the studio.

I decided to bring the monitor/keyboard/mouse inside the recording room and have the computer outside the room. No need for a control room that way. I just put all the noisy stuff outta the room and wire them through a pipe in the floor.

shit I think I'm proud of what I've done. I like it lol. ;)

Anyways, for your situation, if you don't mind changing batteries from time to time, a wireless keyboard can do the trick thats for sure.

If you want pure performance, a PS2 extension is the best way. USB slows down your computer, and if it's wireless, it's worst. (might be hard to notice for some ppl, but it does).

This controller looks too good to pass up. It has an actual display and I should be able to do just about anything I need to from another location.
