I will NEVER buy another Line6 product again. NEVER. I paid $500 for a Bass Pod Pro just 2 years ago, but when I went to LINE6 for support on it last week they told me that they "do not offer support on it because it is no longer in production". They also suggested I buy the new Podxt Pro for $600 instead. Now why would I do that when I know they will not offer support for their product in just a couple of years. This is a company that only cares about the customer that is giving them money today, and nothing for the customer once they have your money. Mesa Boogie doesn't treat their customers this way! Hell, even Behringer doesn't treat customers this way! I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER buy another Line6 product, and will try damn hard to talk anyone that is thinking about it out of it
An even better reason for not buying Line 6 is that they suck tone wise!
Amp modeling is a silly concept!I used to build model cars as a kid but,
they would'nt crank up and run.I have never heard an amp model that sound as good as what it claimed to be modeling.
I have heard some good recordings using line 6 bass pod and guitar pod,but none matched the tone of the real thing.Neither do their amps.
I play thru a vintage Fender twin, and to me,the only amp that can model
that sound would be another vintage twin.
I am not big on gimicktry, and line 6 products seem to be loaded with it.
At an open jam the other nite I played thru a Bogner amp.Not many options,
tone and volume.I used my tube screamer for some overdrive and got a very
workable sound. My point being:tried and true would be the best way to spend 600.00.A marshall jcm 800 1-12 combo will always sound as good as
the cat that is playing thru it,where as a line 6 ALWAYS causes discomfiture
to the listener.
