Too bad SAW is out of business. They really did make the best stuff.

SAW is definitely NOT out of business!!!

www.sawstudio.com

I have been using SAW for two years. After a short stint with Cubase, Soanr, and Samplitude......SAW works best for me.

found with SAW. orking on a Assembly language engine, it's quick and clean. Unfortunately, Bob Lentil gave up the company and no longer produces SAW.

Too much mis-information here.

SAW is alive and well!!

traktion 1 was pretty buggy for me. how's 2? i'm pretty content with reaper at this point.

This thread was started in 2001. I think it's time for the mods to put this one to bed.

ProTools because its cheap... wait nm scratch that...

Because its the medium that all my partners work in.

Why put it to bed? Sure, the poll itself is outdated but people still find it useful to sound off. I say keep it going as long as people want to use it. It's not like we're wasting paper.

lol. Agreed.

I use Reaper. I switched from Adobe Audition 1.5 to Reaper, only because of MIDI and 24-bit recording. Reaper is awesome. I have yet to come even close to using the full capability of Reaper. Audition is great too, so long as you don't care about MIDI/24-bit recording. If it had both, I never would have switched. It's a great program.

Adobe Audition 2.0 wiht an M-Audio AUdiophile 192 card and a Mackie 1202VLZ feeding it. It rawks... Inexpensive, easy, VERY powerful.

i use acid music studio, im bout to get PT tho...

why? if you're used to acid..get the pro 6.0. it's a HUGE step up...and it's fairly familiar. i absolutely love it

I saw the light once, but it just turned out to be nothing. damn.

Pro tools, because i bought it when the first mbox was the cheapest/best (if you disagree please list what i should have bought in 2003 that came with good pre's and legal software) hardware/(legal) software option. Then i just stuck with it because i invested a decent amount of time learning it, and would rather make music than learn a new program. I've since bought a 002 (and wish it was a fireface 800), because i needed more in's and some very small features it had (volume knob for speakers, speaker mute button...sounds silly i know), now i'm stuck. All my sessions from the last 4 years are in PT format, so i guess i'll keep my 002 and buy another interface and gradually start either converting everything...or just record from NOW on in cubase and if i want to work on older sessions use 002/pro tools.

Currently i'm thinking of making the switch it Cubase SX3 or Nuendo and trying to work out why i'd choose one over the other. Many people have told me they are practically the same, though Nuendo is just sx3 with video capability. An engineer i work with disagrees and says there are certain features within nuendo that make working with audio easier. I'm not sure what they are, as i foolishly didn't ask him to elaborate.

Anyways, i will switch because i want the midi functionality and scoring features of cubase. At the moment i use reason for all my midi editing and just rewire it and record the audio into pro tools.
