I had a Gibson EB-1 bass that was great and still have a 70's LP Custom.

1985 D-45L Custom. At the time I bought it there were less than 5 lefty D-45's in existence according to Mike Longworth.

Probably still fewer than 25 today.

I've owned (2) 78 tele deluxe's that had the 2 humbuckers and strat style neck..they're gone now.

73 blond tele..it's gone.

63 lake placid blue jazzmaster..yep, gone

Playing an early 90's deluxe strat at the moment..It'll be gone also, I hate it ;)

Probably the 1961 Les Paul Special.

Double Cutaway non-SG shape.

Great little guitar.

HAH!! That's nothing. We just recently had in the shop for repair, a left handed 1900 era Gibson Style U harp guitar. Absolutely one of a kind and the guy who owns it also owns a right handed of the same model. NOBODY has a more unique instrument than that one. When we told Frank Ford (who specializes in old acoustics) about it, he could barely talk for a good two minutes.

These things have one of the coolest pieces of woodworking I have ever seen, as well. The Harp Lyre/peghead on them is like 6-8 inches thick, and they have this amazing little scroll, no more than a saw kerf's thickness, which is just perfect, and I have absolutly no idea how they did it. Saws just don't leave a cut that clean.

My Electra MPC (1970 Japanese Les Paul copy) with phase shifter and distortion modules inside the guitar is an interesting guitar.

OMG!...that's about the sexiest thing I've ever seen! I gotta have one of those! :D

As much as I want to I can't retire my 12yr. old Ibanez RG550 with EMG's and a Floyd. that's a workhorse. if it wasn't for the pain in the neck pridge I'd play it till I die.

I made a mini v when I was in high school. My woodworking teacher got me a peice of 3" mahogony from a piano factory. I put a 24 fret maple neck from a Gibson Midnight Special and an old dimarzio dual hum.. bridge side. Call it alot of luck but this baby sings.
had 13 at one time ...down to 4 now

awh

my parker fly deluxe.

had to laugh at the other parker poster above though! it was (of all things) my westone thunder 1A (hahahaha) that got the most opposite gender interest - or maybe it was the tux and back eyeliner/lipstick that did it!

but i think i've reached that age where i like my guitar better than i like the effect on the audience - aside from the 'what the hell is that?', does that mean i'm gettin old?

Sounds like some pretty cool guitars you people have listed but for me, out of the six different guitars I own, my 1979 (one owner) Fender Stratocaster is my favorite. The only modification done was I pulled out the stock Fender pickups and replaced them with Seymour Duncans probably within the first week that I bought the guitar. But a lot depends on your particular style of playing. Since I play a heavy blues (SRV, Hendrix) style , the Strat is the axe for me. However, I own a 62 cherry sunburst Gibson LP (which is too damn heavy) and does have a sweet warm response. I generally use it when I'm doing Classic Rock stuff.
I've never owned a PRS however I do play Jazz Fusion and I think that would most likely be a better guitar for Fusion than my Strat is.

Of all my guitars the 1979 Martin E-18 has to be the one the gets the most comments from players and the fans. I use it for studio work but play out with it on occasion. I think Martin has disavowed any knowledge that they even made this instrument. The "alembic" style body with the old world violin type headstock make an instant impression, good or bad. That said, it plays like a dream and I use it for all my humbucker work.

In passing, all my Ric's also gather alot of comments, especially at blues jams....

Peace,
