The thought of people retracting just bums me out too much

Last resort only.
Here's what I thought of last night:
1) We open it up for more submissions (as Chris mentioned) and fill the third CD. If I said that people should keep submissions 4 minutes or under, we might raise enough money to replicate 3. I'll have to see how the quotes for the double come back today.
2) We bite it and have 150 sets of 3 duplicated. If I have it done in bulk it's actually pretty cheap. We can just say that this comp cd isn't the coolest, and hold off for replication until the next one, for which I have an idea that will guarantee that we can replicate. I could also have the jackets professionally printed so they'd look great....so at least this CD would be slightly upgraded from the previous. I'll email the duper today.
3) We get people to back out...but that would just make me feel like dick. I'm not really considering this option. Besides, the idea was to duplicate until I got a wild hair and got everybody all excited.
Maybe I have the wrong idea, but this CD is all about 2 things:
- Raising money for the BBS.
- Giving BBS members the chance to be on a unique CD.
I'd be happy if we could send Dragon 500-1000 dollars, even if we blew a lot of money on replication. Reason being that I can't imagine $1000 not covering BBS costs for a year or so, although dragon has never told me what it really costs. Plus a lot of us amature homerec'ers aren't going to get a lot of chances to be on a "real" CD. This project is for us too!
At any rate, that's just my take. We're all in this together...it's not just my project, it's everyone's!!
