vst connections

im pretty sure this is a cubase thing, but its also a newb question so its placed here.

can anyone tell me what the whole "vst connections - outputs" is for?

you can add busses for stereo and mono, but i have no idea what that means. are these busses ways of monitoring your output thru different devices? sorry, if this is too vague, but pretend i have no idea what im looking at. if i need to rephrase this, let me know.

you guessed it.

Inputs can be created up to the number if inputs on your soundcard and outputs is the exact same thing.

If you have a 2in2out card with just a mic pre on the inputs and your monitors on the outputs or a 24i/o device feeding a mixer with a dedicated input and output for each channel on the mixer you'll set them up under VST connections.

When you create a new buss (either input or output) cubase will show you all available physical connections and let you pick which one you want.
