"Do those big ass monitors have a 1/4 plug that they go into a soundcard with? Listen, I just need a soundcard that I plug 2 or more monitors into, and a mic.. What would be a good budget soundcard for that?"

Yes they do, ok, and an audiophile would be a nice choice.

"How much are descent monitors, I don't need top grade pro shit, but descent and above is nice.. Let me know.."

This is something that you can easily search this site for info on. Im not going to go shopping for you, you can do that yourself.
That subject has been covered well here. Understand that it is faster to do a search on here then to wait for someone to reply.

Also, will I be able to use the audigy for gaming, and the whatever for recording, and the monitors for playback while recording? Let me know, this is confusing..

What knightsy said.

So witch mic? It's go time.. Marshal MXL2003, or the V77.. I was told the V77 was really good for vocals.. Mind you this is rap, not instruments, or rock and roll, or anything.. Strictly vocals for rap.. Also the SM7... Whitch one people?! The V77 comes with it's own powersupply. Does the mic go into powersupply, then power supply into preamp? Cause I want to be able to have control over vocals, like volume levels and such...

Is there a way I can hear these mics, if you own one, and have recorded vocals, send them to WvSoulja@hotmail.com so I can listen and hear them... Something like that would make my desicion final.

Yup, the mic goes into the power supply and the power supply goes into the card. The only thing the power supply does is send power to the mic. You will control the volume etc...good luck!

I'll tell you what . . . I'll send you those examples you request . . . and I'll tell you which mic to pick . . .

. . . if you can tell me what shirt I should get to go with the pants I'm wearing right at this moment. Please include size, also.

Thanks!

(getting those files ready as we speak)

I'm not usually one to "toot my own horn" but building on what Chess said:

These kind of questions and requests are getting a little annoying. I'll say it again. DO A SEARCH ON HERE!!!
I'm not telling you this becuase I don't want to take the time writing (ive wasted enough time) I'm trying to help you.
With enough searching and reading you will:

A. Learn more about the topics you are asking about. (most of which are covered nicely, (some of which are covered nicely in threads you yourself have started)

B. Learn how to ask questions so that people can help you more efficiently.

C. Learn what questions NOT to ask, becuase they have been covered well on this bbs .

There you have it, its as easy as ABC!

Be sure to pay special attention to B. This will help you out a lot becuase, trust me, your not going to get very far if you just expect people to make your decisions for you. Especially when it comes to a purchase! You must be a mess when a door to door salesman come lurking through the neighborhood
>"this is the best mic of all time"
<"thats not true"
>"YES IT IS DEREK!"
<"ok"

Tip: A good place to start would some of you old threads, a lot of these questions have already been covered with you a few times.

"It doesnt look cool", Friggin male models

Hey rapboy. You should get some recording skills before you go invest in studio equipment.... and lose that fear of gays.

Go to a music store, and swap your neckchains and guns for some decent shit and a lesson in how to use it.

Then you go rent a gay XXX movie and get rid off the rest of your problems.

Funny Stefan, you truly are a faggot.. But the V77, it comes with a powersupply. The powersupply in wall, powersupply to mic, and then to soundcard? Is it possible to hook that up to pre-amp, so I can control vocal volume level?

Wow, I've read a lot of crap on this board, but that was the first time I was actually offended. wvsoulja, you've got some serious homophobia to get over. Those aren't words to be bantering about lightly on a BBS. I realize that this is probably for naught, but take some advice:

God gave you a gift between your ears. Use it BEFORE you type.

If you want an education, use search. All of your questions have been answered, at least twice. It is quite clear that you have chosen to just keep asking if you don't get the answer you want to hear. That is a waste of all of our time. If you want to be belligerent, go ahead. This is the first, and last, post of yours I'll reply to.

da' soulja is such a dullard he probably doesn't even realize how gay he actually is.

And PLEASE when someone answers you a question

DON'T ASK IT AGAIN!!!

What a great thread!! You guys really make my day!!

I admire you all for being so helpful to a guy, asking his question over and over.

Yes, I'm a professional audio engineer.

So my dear boy, the V77 is a wonderful tube condenser mic and you will get a sound out of it that's close to the classic German (Neumann) sound.

But rap vocals?? Dunno, IMHO you'll need a really good dynamic like the Beyer M88

The V77 comes with a power supply. This PS has three wires. One goes from the wall outlet to the PS, one goes from the PS to the microphone and one goes from the PS to the mic pre, soundcard, mixing board or whatever U use to get your thing recorded.

The V77 is a poor man's Neumann and it will give you nice sounds from any acoustic instrument like winds, horns stings and vocals like Celine Dion, but like I said, for rap it wouldn't be my choice.

Does that answer your question?
