If i hook my mixer, with mics and all, up to my computer using n-track, when i hit record, will it record all on to one track and if so, how can i record everything on to seperate tracks.
You need a sound car or audio interface that has more than one channel. Then you can send submixes to different channels and then to different tracks. If you only have one input in your computer, your out of luck. If you got something like the Delta 44, that has 4 inputs, so you could record 4 tracks at a time.
I looked up your mixer on the internet. It says it has 8 direct outs. Say you have a 8 input sound card, you can send channels 1-8 into the corresponding input of the soundcard by using the direct outs. You also have sub mixes. There should be some sort of switches which lets you assign different channels of the mixer to different sub groups. Then you use a chord to connect the sub mix outs to the sound card channel ins. Thats the basics.
How many inputs are on your sound card or the sound card you want to buy?
I hope my informations correct. I dont actually use a hardware mixer for recording, but Im pretty sure that my info is correct.
