I have another thread related to this, but I mixed this today using some of what I've learned here thus far. The related thread is here: https://homerecording.com/bbs/threa...aptop-mic-help-with-singing-technique.431719/

So, using my cheap setup of two plastic microphones, a Realistic mic mixer, a cheap MP3/WAV stereo recorder, and Audacity, I:

1. Repositioned my vocal mic to that I'd sing "up" into it, keeping my throat open.
2. Doubled the guitar track and delayed one before recombining.
3. Added just a touch of reverb to my voice.
4. Cut low noise on the guitar track at 70Hz at 48dB rolloff.

About 1:10 I started running out of air, and I can tell. I think I just forgot to breathe was all. I need to work on that. How can I improve either on singing or mixing or both? (I'm currently shopping for a different recorder, so that's covered.)

Thanks!

That's good. I can't hear much reverb on that voice.
It could do with a mad drummer thrashing a drum kit, and a bass guitar.

I appreciate it. My BiL is a drummer without a kit, and I'm thinking about buying some electronic drums to lend to him. A friend is a bass player, but keeps to himself and, honestly, I think he's afraid to put himself out there.

The reverb was oh-so-little. The idea was to have just little enough it wouldn't stand out as obvious.

Anyone here is more than welcome to lay down a beat on that track. I'd love to hear it with bass and drums.
